Evidence of Eternity

Communicating with the Spirits for Proof of the Afterlife

By Mark Anthony
published by Llewellyn Publications, 2015

Reviewed by Dana Doerksen, Librarian at The Seattle Metaphysical Library

Evidence of Eternity: Communicating with the Spirits for Proof of the Afterlife is an entertaining account of many of Anthony's psychic experiences and client readings that are offered as evidence of spirit communication. Mark Anthony, who has registered the name the Psychic Lawyer, is a self-professed fourth generation medium who earned his law degree from Mercer University in Georgia. Anthony's mother, aunt and father all had psychic abilities and he inherited those abilities from them. Anthony studied mediumship at the Arthur Findlay College for the Advancement of Psychic Science in Essex, England.

His career is offered as an indication of his reliance on evidence and research when approaching psychic phenomena. Anthony is featured regularly as a psychic medium, paranormal expert and legal analyst in high profile murder cases on television and radio. The book offers explanations for many of questions about death, near death and life after death including reincarnation, karma, what happens after a suicide or death of a murderer. The ideas and concepts presented give hope that healing and reconciliation with loved ones that have died is possible and that death does not need to be feared. Most of Anthony's mediumship accounts involve the healing of grief associated with the death of the loved one. The amazing and uplifting stories of spirit communication will be helpful and interesting to many readers of the spirituality and new age genre.

Evidence of Eternity: Communicating with the Spirits for Proof of the Afterlife is written in the very clear and casual style of a friend and begins with stories about Mark Anthony's family history and their psychic talents. He recounts in depth stories about various psychic abilities that he and some of his family members have had including spirit communication and premonitions about traumatic events. The text continues with the discussion of various client readings that shed light on near death experiences, purgatorial levels in the spiritual dimension, the ability to contact spirits even after reincarnation, how spirits communicate with symbols and various levels of meaning, homicide, suicide, parents' loss of children, animals on the other side, and the eternal soul. Explanation and evidence for interpretations are gleaned from near death experience research including physiological phenomena, scientific principles of energy, theoretical physics, and theology.

Anthony's book is entertaining and the spirit communication stories are amazing in their ability to answer the questions of the bereaved and in their accuracy and detail. The book definitely gives a lot of food for thought about many of life's unanswerable questions. I think that anyone who has suffered a loss and/or wants to consider ideas around the spiritual realm would enjoy this read. On the other hand I would find the evidence a lot more compelling if it was less entertainment and more science, more footnoted first-hand accounts and less brilliant storytelling. Another book on the subject that I found more credible is Proof of Heaven, by Eben Alexander, MD.

Mark Anthony's first book is entitled Never Letting Go: Heal Grief with Help from the Other Side. You can read more about Mark Anthony and his books at www.EvidenceOfEternity.com
